Editorial methodology

Sourcing tiers

We prioritise primary sources and link material factual claims where an official source is available. We use a three-tier framework:

• •Tier 1 (preferred): Official EU institutions – European Commission, European Parliament, Council of the EU, Court of Justice of the EU, EESC, ECB, EUR-Lex.
• •Tier 2: Peer-reviewed legal academics, national government publications, official EU member-state legislative trackers.
• •Tier 3 (used only when 1 or 2 are unavailable): Established trade press with named journalists (PitchBook, Sifted, Agence Europe, Politico EU). Cited explicitly with author and date.

AI pipeline transparency

AI supports source discovery, first drafts and localisation. Publication remains an editorial decision, and the indexed search core is deliberately small.

• •Discovery: Automated checks flag possible developments; a source URL and document identity are required before an item enters review.
• •Drafting: AI-assisted drafts must distinguish proposals, rapporteur drafts, political targets and adopted law.
• •Validation: The editor checks material dates, numbers, document versions and claims against the linked source before search indexation.
• •Localisation: English and German are the indexed editorial editions. French and Spanish remain public previews with noindex until they pass the same quality gate.

Translation policy

The public site is available in English, German, French and Spanish. English and German are indexable; French and Spanish are noindex previews while terminology and source coverage are reviewed. Machine translation is not a substitute for the official document or qualified legal advice.

Corrections policy

Material corrections record the old claim, corrected wording, reason, date and source in the public /corrections log. Email editor@euinc.me to report an issue; receipt is acknowledged and the claim is reviewed against the primary document.

Citation format

Material numerical and procedural claims should link to the original source and use official identifiers such as COM(2026) 321, 2026/0074(COD) and PE790.143v02-00. Direct quotations require clear attribution.

Limitations and known biases

EU Inc Monitor is a tracker, not legal counsel. It cannot replace advice from a qualified EU lawyer, and it cannot guarantee that EU Inc will be adopted in the form currently proposed. As an AI-assisted publisher we have an interest in writing about EU Inc; we do not have a financial interest in any particular outcome. We disclose this transparently to allow readers to weigh the analysis accordingly.
