The Legal Affairs Committee scheduled its first consideration of René Repasi's draft report on procedure 2026/0074(COD). Discussion of a draft does not adopt the amendments or create a Parliament position.
JURI amendment deadline
Committee members may submit amendments to the rapporteur's draft. The consolidated committee position will only emerge through later votes.

The Council lists another Company Law Working Party meeting as technical negotiations continue.
JURI committee vote postponed
The Legal Affairs Committee vote planned for October 8 did not go ahead after the rapporteurs failed to agree compromise amendments on employee participation, according to press reports. Parliament's dossier still shows the file awaiting a committee decision.
Indicative plenary date for Parliament's first reading
Parliament's procedure file lists November 12 as a forecast, not a fixed date. A plenary vote needs the JURI Committee to adopt its report first.
Political target for agreement – not a launch date
EU leaders and the Commission are seeking political agreement by the end of 2026. Adoption remains uncertain and the final rules may differ from the proposal.
Application would follow entry into force
Article 109 of the Commission proposal provides for application 12 months after entry into force. No official registration-opening date exists, and the adopted text may change.
